Tu 13 April 1847	The Mastiff surveying-vessel, and her tender, the Woodlark, were taken out of the basin yesterday, and it is expected they will leave Woolwich on the 25th inst., to resume their surveying duties on the coast of the Orkney Islands.
Th 2 September 1847	WOOLWICH, Sept. 1 IIt may be the means of allaying the fears of the relations and friends of the persons on board Her Majesty's surveying-vessel Mastiff to assure them that no letters have been received at Woolwich Dockyard relative to any accident having happened to that vessel. The Mastiff, with her tender, the Woodlark, left Woolwich in the early part of the season, under the command of Commander Becher, of the Hydrographic-office, to resume the surveying duties at the Orkney Islands, which were performed in many previous years with great satisfaction to the authorities by Master-Commander G. Thomas. She is a sailing, and not a steam vessel, which affords reason to hope that some mistake has occurred relative to the account which recently appeared of her having been wrecked on the coast of the Orkney Islands.
Tu 29 February 1848	WOOLWICH, Feb. 28 The Woodlark, tender to the Mastiff, and under the command of Lieutenant Thomas, arrived yesterday at Woolwich from the Orkney Islands. The Mastiff surveying-vessel, under the command of Captain Becher, of the Hydrographical-office, is to remain in the North Sea on her surveying duties.
