Captain Sir Thomas Bourchier, K.C.B., embarked 3,000,000 dollars at Chusan en the 16th of September, being half the amount of the first instalment paid by the Chinese Government, under the late treaty; the remaining 3,000,000 were embarked at the same time in equal proportions, on board the Herald, 26, Captain Joseph Nias, C.B., Clio, 16, Captain N. Troubridge, Columbine, 16, Captain W.H.A. Morshead, and Modeste, 18, Captain Rundle Watson. The Blonde may now be shortly expected home. | ||
